Gloves in CS2: Why They Cost What They Cost

Gloves show up in every first-person view, carry no StatTrak, and come from a tiny share of case drops. A short guide before you buy a pair.

Always in view

You see your gloves in first person on almost every weapon, which puts them in view more than any single gun skin. That visibility drives a lot of demand.

Where gloves come from

Gloves arrive as the rare special item from certain weapon cases, in the same slot that knives occupy in others. That slot drops at about 0.26 percent per case, so few new pairs reach the market.

Gloves never come as StatTrak or Souvenir. Every pair is the standard version.

Wear hits gloves hard

Many glove finishes have narrow float ranges, and Factory New pairs are scarce for several of them. Wear shows up as fading and scuffs across the fabric and leather, and it shows in first person more than wear on most guns.

A Field-Tested pair at the low end of its range can look good for a fraction of the price of a cleaner pair. Inspect before you pay.

Choosing a pair

  1. 1
Pick the colour you want to look at for hundreds of hours
  2. 2
Check which exteriors that finish comes in
  3. 3
Inspect a few listings, since fabric patterns differ between copies
  4. 4
Compare the pair with your most-used weapon skins, since they sit side by side on screen

Budget pairs exist

Gloves do not all cost a fortune. Older and less popular finishes in Field-Tested or Well-Worn sit within reach of a mid-range rifle skin. If you want gloves for the look, start with those and move up only if the look matters to you.
